About CES Ghana

The Center for Ecosystem Health and Sustainability (CES Ghana) was founded and duly registered in 2023. CES Ghana is a community-oriented, science-based non-profit organization dedicated to nature conservation through advocacy, education, research, and developing innovative and sustainable solutions. We aim to promote and strengthen synergies that ensure healthier ecosystems by advancing public health and environmental literacy as well as practical and sustainable conservation actions that are evidence-based.

Conduct evidence-based research, capacity development, advocacy, and dissemination of information (scientific and indigenous), among others, to ensure sustainable human and animal health through healthier ecosystems.

Objectives and activities
Mission

These include (but are not limited to) the following:

  1. Campaign and advocate for the protection of the environment and ecosystems.

  2. Conduct scientific research and communicate the findings.

  3. Promote sustainable use and management of natural resources through the adoption of methods that are beneficial to communities and the environment (i.e., nature-based solutions).

  4. Support the creation of programs that enhance society’s appreciation of nature and wildlife.

  5. Support initiatives that contribute to addressing the challenges to the health and welfare of wildlife, humans, and the environment.

  6. Build the capacity of communities (e.g., individuals, groups, and leaders) with skills, knowledge, and motivation to be champions of change toward biodiversity in order to avert unforeseen environmental threats.
