Funding from the Rufford Foundation has been secured to conduct urgent bat surveys in the Greater Tamale Area in the Northern Region of Ghana. This research is timely given the rapid urbanisation of the city and the potential impacts it has on biodiversity.

Thus, the research is expected to fill critical knowledge gaps pertaining to urban bat roosts and species, community attitudes and perceptions, and awareness of people about bats. Esther will lead the project with a research team comprised of Eric, Tony, and Huzaima, among others.
